Yes, but due to the very high resolution and large file sizes, there are only few devices currently available for recording HDTV. Digital high-definition VCRs available from JVC, Marantz and Mitsubishi recorded HDTV onto digital VHS tapes in much the same way as standard VCRs. The other option is a high-definition digital video recorder (DVR) that, in much the same way as a TiVo device, records HDTV into a built-in hard drive. HTDV DVRs are available from both satellite and cable operators. LG offers an HDTV DVR for off-air broadcast recording.
